Before the flu fiasco we went to Kohl's to waste time until one o'clock and look for tennis shoes for the kids. Drew's size was really hard to find, he is kind of between toddlers and big kids. So he was in love with these light up shoes and so excited that they were in his size, 11. Then I took a look at the price (over $40) and explained to Drew we can not afford these shoes right now, maybe he could ask for them for his birthday or Christmas. He was really upset, but I was not budging. No way I was spending $40 plus dollars on the kids shoes, my tennis shoes didn't even cost that much. Nana came over and said she would buy them for him. I told her she didn't have to, but she said she wanted to. I made Drew give her a big thank you hug.
Drew was so excited about his new light up shoes he would tell everyone about them. The story went something like this. I have new light up shoes, we don't have any money, so my Nana bought them for me. Friends, strangers, any one who wanted to listen he would tell we don't have any money. Next I am thinking about getting him a cup for donations.
Drew had to take off his pants to see the lights on his shoes. He is showing them off to dad in the closet when dad got home from taking his test. Thanks Nana for spoiling my kids. He loves his new light up shoes.
