Quiet Drew

Monday evening we were all watching Mulan. Drew takes off down the hall and I assume he is playing in his room. Both kids are getting better at entertaining themselves and each other in their rooms. The difference is, we can usually hear them. Andy noticed that Drew is awfully quiet and goes to check on him and this is what he found.
Drew had taken my bra off the door knob where it was drying, took it to his room and was playing with it and his toys. Of all the toys he has to play with, this is what he does. I swear this is one goofy boy.

Furries Update

Bailey still likes to lick.
Lucy is still lazy.
And our cat, Roxy that I thought was just a furry bump on a log is........
A MOUSER - EEEWW!!!!!
This caused major shock and distress in the house, okay basically just to me. I woke up to go pick up the kids from daycare and when I walked through the kitchen this is what I found. Apparently they like to present you with their kill. Thank god Andy came home early and was able to pick it up and disinfect for me. Hopefully this will not be a reoccurring event, the husband is supposed to take care of it. I do not do rodents or rodent control. Still causes a little trauma for me, just by looking at it.

Cardboard House

The cooped up, going stir crazy activity of the weekend was a cardboard house that you can color.
Drew putting Santa cat down the chimney.

Jillian was loving it.
Jilli bean peaking at me while I color a grasshopper.
Drew got some major paper cuts from the house but that hasn't stopped him from playing in it. It is still in our living room as I type.

Visiting Baby Claire

We all headed over to Overland Park to visit baby Claire, Bryce and Tammy. We hadn't seen them since Christmas and a lot has changed.
She is crawling everywhere and even walks behind her walk and ride toy.

Opening her Valentine, a doll Drew picked out and some yogurt melts (the closest thing I thought she could have to candy).

Ready for dinner.

Appetizer of puffs.

Uncle Andy being silly and making her smile.

Before we left I tried to get a picture of the kids together. This is how it turned out.

More Claire pics to come, we are babysitting this weekend, yeah!

Matching Toes

I gave sister and myself matching pedicures, pink sparkly. She loved it and did so well. I just laid down a towel on the couch and she watched toons while I painted.

Lazy Sunday

We lazed around most of Sunday, ate dinner, gave the kids a bath and then more relaxing.
Sister posing for the camera.

Arial View
Drew started asking Lucy why she was so sad. I guess lazy looks sad to Drew. He was really sweet to her and was petting her to make her feel better.
This picture makes me smile. It was a nice ending to a great weekend. Nice to stay home and spend time with the kids and nice to go out with friends. I needed a weekend like this.

Valentine's Day

My wonderful hubby let me sleep in and sleep off my liquor Valentine's day morning. He made the kids pink chocolate chip pancakes and let them open their gifts.
Such a good daddy. Pancakes and berries for breakfast. Drew is a strawberry kid and Jillian is a blueberry monster. She would eat blueberries with every meal if I let her.
Time for presents.
Shark fishing for Drew and Jillian with her Pinkalicous book. Drew got the book Skippy Jon Jones and for those of you who haven't read it, it is super cute and he loved it.
Bracelets and rings for my girly girl.
My favorite part about this picture is Drew is coughing in his elbow while showing off his yummy peeps to dad. Way to make me proud, boy. Side note: these peeps are soooo good. I am not usually a peeps kind of girl, but these are strawberry creme heart peeps and oh so yummy. I recommend everyone try them. Tinkerbell gummies for sis and Toy Story for Drew - as if we need more candy.

Happy Valentine's Day my sweets.
Drew look so much like a Henke kid in this picture - something reminds me of Bryce again.

Out

Saturday night my mom came up to babysit the kiddos while Andy and I went out with our friends. We went to Stix, hibachi place for dinner and then to Pin up bowl and bowling alley/martini bar. There were 5 couples from the neighborhood, all girls I play Bunko with.

I had my camera the entire time and only remembered at the end. These were the only 4 pictures I took the entire night. Below is Angie, Monica, Tanya and half of me. This is my second attempt and taking our picture myself. This is just before we are getting ready to leave -so I was a little drunk if you can't tell.
A nice picture of the girls. Monica is in the middle and she is pregnant, so she was our DD. Andy and I both got to drink and then chauffeured around by poor Monica.
Drunk Andy.
A lovely 4 picture to commerate our night don't you think. Our planner Jenny didn't even make it into my 4 snaps. We had such a fun time, wish we could do it more often.

Valentine's Parties

Friday was the kids Valentines day parties at school. Drew was at 9:30 am, so the kids slept in and I took them just in time for the fun.
Below Drew is handing out his Valentines - one for Maddie.
I love how the girls are smiling sweetly for the camera. To the left is Kodi and Kaleigh to the right.
One for Mason.

Me trying to get Drew and Kaleigh to smile for me. Kaleigh is distracted by Drew's silliness.

Drew getting a valentine from one of his best buddies - Gavin

Drew and Evan

The whole class enjoying Valentine's treats.

Cool artwork the kids made for Valentine's day.

Jillian's party wasn't until 3:00. So I went home and napped and so did sis if you couldn't tell by her hair. Below is Jillian with her best buddy Addison.
Jillian's school friends: half of McKenna, Ashton, Gage, Ally, Anna and Colton

Addison - she is Drew's teacher (Miss Lindsay) daughter

Addison and Miss Lindsay

Lots of sugar was consumed this day by both kids.Drew made his Valentine's box at school, all we had to do was bring in a kleenex box. We had to make Jillian's at home. It was a one day, last minute kind of scramble thing but I think it turned out pretty cute. Drew was upset because we weren't making anything for him. So I made his the same name thing I made for Jillian's box and gave it to him that night. He was so sweet and told me how nice that was and how much he loved his Valentine.
Watch out girls this boy is a mushy romantic - so into Valentine's day and telling me how much he loves me. The other day we were sitting on the couch and he says to me with great concern "mom, I don't know who I am going to marry." I told him he had a long time to figure that out. He asked if he could marry me and I told him that I couldn't be his mom and his wife, plus I was already Dad's wife. The next day he made a ring and proposed to his teacher Miss Lindsay. This boy - melts my heart, like I said watch out girls.

My Girls

My girls were curled up at the end of the couch. They were so cute that they were practically begging to be photographed.
Lucy was so lethargic that she could barely open her eyes, so to perk her up I said their favorite word "treatie."I love my pups so much - I have been extra appreciative of their unconditional love this week. My parents dog passed away Monday and it has been a rough week for everyone.
