Day Before the First Day of Spring

The Friday before our first of spring snow storm was predicted to arrive the day started out beautiful. 67 degrees at 2:30 when I went to Wal-Mart, then picked up the kids and headed to the pond to ride bikes. (Hence sister's helmet) By the time we got there it was in the forties and getting colder by the minute.
The Nicholson boys and Jenny walked down and met us to play, but we didn' t last long. We ended up playing inside at their house for a while. The rate of the temperature drop was crazy. It was snowing by that night.
Braving the weather.
The kids didn't seem to mind as much as the moms.

First Day of Spring

No Joke - March 20, the first day of spring we got 6 inches of snow at the house.

I am at work and that is the reason my child has no hat on. Andy said it was warm, but really how warm could it be, THERE IS SNOW ON THE GROUND!!!

Drew looks like he is holding a snow baby in this picture. I wonder what he really is doing.

Always fun, playing in the snow with dad!

I am not really sure what they are standing on. Maybe the snow pile before it became an igloo.

Our first of spring igloo, I am hoping this doesn't become a tradition.

No suprise, the kids loved it.

Sister's turn.

And now together.
The many funny expression of my Drew.

You can fill in your own thought bubbles.

St. Patty's Day

Dad's St. Patrick's Day special - Green eggs and green butter for their toast.
Sister during part of her wake up process.
Hey..... What's this?
Jillian's new favorite phrase... I don't like it. We hear it a lot about food (she is trying to be a picky eater) and today I heard it about her polka dotty pants.
Drew loved them.

I know it is borderline ridiculous that I got my children presents for St. Patty's day (I am sure most of you are not shocked by this). BUT... I had good reason. Jillian's beloved princess shoes broke a couple of weeks ago and I bought some new ones and held onto them looking for a reason to give them to her. You guys should be proud not appalled. :)

Be warned it is a horrible video but worth it to hear Jilli's cute voice say "Snow White shoes."

Sister posing in her Snow white shoes.
More posing, this girl is becoming a ham.
They put the St. Patty's day ribbon in her hair at school that day.
Jillian wants me to take her picture and then she has to look at it on the camera immediately following.
The present included Snow White shoes (her fav), Ariel shoes (in hand), Cinderella and Sleeping beauty shoes too. You would be amazed to watch this girl run in heels. Her fashion does not slow her down a bit.
Drew got a super cool Bat Mobile.

Baby Claire Turns 1

Look at our big girl - can't believe she is already one.
Drew and Jillian giving her some birthday love.
I don't know how they got her to keep her crown on.... super glue?
Drew giving baby Claire a birthday kiss.
The Girls - I see trouble in our future.
Cute Elmo cake - Jillian was a fan.
This frame says it all - "you only turn 1 once!"
Hugs
Me and Sister ready to party!
Playing on the stairs while waiting for the rest of the guest to arrive.
Time for presents! This is one loved little girl!
Checking out her new clothes.
I like this picture for many reasons. 1. Jillian's adorable curls 2. An action shot of me lecturing and 3. My neck is extended so it appears I only have one extra chin, sadly not the actual case.
A special present to Claire from just Drew.
A bat girl shirt with sparkles :)

No super glue.
My sweet boy.
Warning! I am videoing while holding a squirmy 2 year old and zoomed in.
The look on her face was priceless.

Claire's first taste of cake.

Jillian enjoying her icing. She doesn't eat the cake or ice cream.
She was definitely in the right spot, aunt Tammy was hooking her up with all the extra edge icing too.
Sugar Overdose?
Claire telling all these people about her birthday!

The biggest first birthday bash was a success!
Happy Birthday Claire!!!

How To Train Your Dragon

Friday night we went to see How to Train Your Dragon with the Longs and 3/4 of the Nicholsons. I thought these little boys lined up in their seats was the cutest.
To my left....Drew, Luke, Nate and Owen
And to my right, the girls, Jillian and Emily.
It was a very cute movie. We watched the regular version because we were not sure how well the little ones would keep their glasses on. Emily and I were on the verge of tears and the boys loved all the dragons. Some funny parts only the adults caught too. 4 stars from me.

Unsupervised Hand and Face Washing.....

So I will set the scene...Andy is at school late (he doesn't get home until 8:00), I am cleaning up the kitchen after a superb gourmet meal. I ask my children to go to the bathroom and wash their hands and faces. Drew comes strolling down the hall with a soaked head and I asked him how his head got wet, yes, already knowing the answer. I am pretty sure it is a mother's job to ask rhetorical questions. His response "Jillian splashed me." Blatant lying from my 4 year old, that continues after more rhetorical questioning. He finally admits the both of them sticking their heads under the running facet and I said "I know."

Jillian was crying because (if you didn't catch her response), "you scared.....me." She quickly got over her fake crying when she found out she was not in trouble. She recovered nicely as you can tell from the following pictures.Ornery grin

All that water and she still didn't get all the food off her face, geesh!

My long haired hippy boy before his hair cut.
